Students in English 8 will read two Accelerated Reading books each nine weeks. They will complete a Vocabulary worksheet until the vocabulary workbook is finished (30 Chapters). The spelling test each week will come from the Vocabulary worksheet. Eighth grade students will do grammar and writing assignments from the 8th grade Shurley textbook. The 8th grade will work on mastering the expository essay. Eighth grade students will also use the 8th grade literature book (Enjoying Literature) as time permits.
