Ag Discovery is an introductory course designed to provide a broad experience in metals. Students must pass an extensive safety unit including tool identification and power tool usage. Later skills and demonstrations include oxyacetylene welding and cutting, the gas forge, sheet metal layout, and arc welding. Students will also complete several small projects including a chipping hammer and a toolbox.
Upon completion of Ag Discovery, students will understand the basic welding processes, have strengthened their measuring and fractions (math) skills, improved their ability to follow instructions, and become more safety conscious.
