Prerequisite: Science 9, Biology or Ag. Science, Algebra I, concurrent enrollment in Algebra II.

Chemistry is the study of the composition and structure of materials and the changes they undergo. Within this course, there is an in-depth study of the Periodic Table of the Elements, matter and the changes it undergoes, chemical compounds, chemical equations, and chemical reaction. Also, within this course, there are applications of the mathematical skills students have learned in algebra to the various relationships found in chemistry. Labs are used to investigate the different properties of chemicals and their reaction. Offered on alternating years with Physics.
