PARENT – TEACHER CONFERENCES
Parent – Teacher conferences will be held on Monday, Feb. 6th from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, Feb. 8th from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.
Conferences will be scheduled as usual for Preschool – 3rd grade.
Conferences for 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students will be held in the gym. Parents will not have a scheduled time to meet with their child’s multiple teachers. Parents will go to the gym, collect their child’s information packet and circulate to meet with their child’s teachers: Mrs. Shore, Mrs. Pippitt, Mrs. Ashenfelter, Mrs. Powell, and Mr. Atkins. We hope this new conference arrangement will meet the needs of you and your child.
CONSERVATION DINNER
Reminder – For our Central poster contest winners, the RSVP deadline for attending the Cowley County Conservation District dinner, on Feb. 9th, is Friday, Feb. 3rd. If you have not called their office and plan to attend, their number is 620-221-1850, ext. 3. If you are not able to attend because of transportation, Mrs. Powell will provide transportation. Please call with questions or transportation needs.
4TH & 5TH GRADE BASKETBALL
This will be the last week for 4th and 5th grade basketball. Practice will be on Friday, Feb. 3rd from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. with the final scrimmage held on Saturday, Feb. 4th at 9:00 a.m. We will be taking a team picture, so please wear your team shirt.
WINFIELD ART AND HUMANITIES
Ms. Jillian Tatum, CJSHS and CES art instructor, will be displaying the art work of the following CES students at the Winfield Art and Humanities Council gallery at Baden Square from February 7 – 24: Kindergarten – Allie Pippitt, Katie Cook, Addy Williams, 1st grade – Chandel Conklin, Kaley Pruitt, Jackilynn Lewis, Baileigh Goad, 2nd grade – Ethan Powell, Bridgette Lawson, Mallory Bergeron, Emma Garrison, 3rd grade – all students, 4th grade – Taylor Koonce, Colton Foley, Brittany Harth, 5th grade – Ali Burns, Skyler Stover, Makenna Foley, Jonathan Hood, Clark Loewer, and 6th grade – Skylar Dolzadelli, Gracie Scott, and Kenzee Biddle.
Students will tour Baden Square on Feb. 14th before the Valentine’s Day parties.
RED WHEEL SALES
CPTO is sponsoring Red Wheel sales beginning on Feb. 6th and continuing until Feb. 22nd. Delivery date is March 7th. This is a major fundraiser for CPTO. The money raised is used for field trips and special extras, like our rock climbing wall and big screen for family movie nights. They recently purchased a popcorn machine, which we all love!
SPELLING BEE
The winners are: 1st Sandie Scott, 2nd Liam Robinson, 3rd Hannah Dobbs, 4th Mirriah Wallingford, and alternate Cody Jimenez. These students will represent Central at the County Spelling Bee at Ark City on Wednesday, Feb. 15th. Congratulations!!
ARRIVING AT SCHOOL
Students do not need to be at school until 7:45 a.m. The breakfast bell rings at 7:50 a.m., allowing students to enter the building. Thank you for your cooperation.
