The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to recognize those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. “This service opportunity is a wonderful way for our members to put into action the standards for which our organization holds the highest. The NHS members enjoyed time spent in conversation with the veterans and look forward to continuing this tradition each year in November.” said sponsor, Jillian Henning. NHS Members present were Kenzee Biddle, Torie Thiel, Cory Goad, Haylee Krueger, and Whitley Liebau. The Central Family and Consumer Science classes, taught by Marian Hedges prepared the meal and students, Ricki Hilario and Mackenzie Rosenborger helped serve at the event.

At Central, we are grateful for those who have served our country and would like to further honor all local veterans on January 9th, 2018, during halftime of the varsity basketball games. Please mark your calendar, we hope to see you there!
