Happy New Year Raiders! We are looking forward to see students tomorrow as we kick off 2nd semester on Tues., Jan. 3rd. This week is Homecoming. Spirit week includes Total White Out Tues., Winter Gear Wed., & Raider Spirit Thurs.. Coronation will be Fri., Jan. 6th during half time of the HS boys basketball game.

Our students spent some time with Mrs. Littrell before break to complete holiday STEM challenges, make snowmen and build extra large snowflakes to decorate our commons area. They also enjoyed a snack of homemade caramel popcorn. Fun was had by all!
CES STRIKE Club students spent an evening before break caroling around Burden! Thank you students and sponsors for braving the frigid temperatures to bring joy to our community members!

Basketball Practice Times over Christmas Break.
The Central youth basketball teams played their last game before Christmas.
5th Grade beat Udall.
3rd/4th Boys lost to Udall.
3rd/4th Girls beat Wellington.

The HS BB team hosted Bluestem tonight. The girls lost a hard fought game 31-55. The boys won 24-52.
Due to sickness at Pretty Prairie there will not be any JV BB games played tomorrow. It will be varsity only starting at 4:00 pm with girls followed by boys. The bus will leave at 1:00 pm.
The HS wrestling team is at the Marion County Duals today starting at 3:00 pm. Central will start wrestling at Marion. The link below has the live results.

The HS BB team is at home tonight against Bluestem. Games start at 4:30 pm with JV girls and boys. Varsity games will start at 6:00 pm.

The JH BB team traveled to West Elk tonight for the last game before Christmas. The B girls lost and the B boys got a win. The A girls lost a hard fought game 31-46. The A boys beat West Elk in overtime thriller 32-26.

The Junior class has 30 dozen Texas Roadhouse Rolls for sale. They are $10 per dozen. If you are interested please email Karen Bannister kbannister@usd462.org. They will also be for sale at the concession stand during the home basketball game on Friday, Dec. 16, 2022.

Central Jr/Sr High School students kicked off finals days with a fun morning building relationships, school pride, and belonging. Everyone participated in a variety of activities that were selected through the Leader In Me refection process of students and staff. Activities included front courtyard beautification, window art, trophy case cataloging, creating interactive bulletin boards, media creation of student pictures and videos for commons area TV's, helping the elementary with Christmas Around the World, working on Homecoming decorations, creating holiday cards and ornaments for local nursing homes, and preparing the food and decorations for our first annual school wide community end of semester breakfast celebration. What a great day to be a Raider!!
The HS BB team played at Dexter last night. The girls got a big win, beating CVD 46-30. The boys lost a hard fought game, 54-34.
The teams are back at home on Friday against Bluestem.
The Central Burden FFA started a New tradition today, as we added the Handprints of the Middle school students in National Blue and the Outgoing Senior's handprints in Corn gold to the Wall with the Greenhands hand prints.
Every FFA chapter has the Greenhands in their chapter put their handprints on a wall or board their freshman year. We thought it would be neat to get the 7th & 8th grade FFA students involved as well as the outgoing FFA Senior Students.
