Raider Athletic/Activities Update for October 14 - 19.


The CES 3rd-5th graders finished their volleyball season today at the tournament in Winfield. The 4th and 5th grade team lost their 1st 2 matches and the 3rd graders lost in the semi-finals, placing in the top 4!



The HS VB team played some good volleyball today in the SCBL tournament, but was not able to get any wins. The girls next games are at Wichita Classical on Thursday at 5:00 pm.




The HS VB team is playing in the league tournament today at Oxford. Games start at 9:00 am with Central playing the second game of the day. Good luck girls!


The HS FB team will play TONIGHT at Dexter. The game kicks off at 7:00 pm. Good luck boys!

The high school football team sat down for a team meal in preparation for tomorrow's game at Dexter. Thank you to Creek Stone Farms and Coke Distribution for donating burgers and water to the Raider Football Program!

The JH FB team loses a tough one to Sedan. The football team's last game is next week at home against Flinthills.







The Central FFA traveled to Kiowa, KS for the South Barber Livestock Judging Contest Yesterday. We had a Senior Team a Junior Team and a couple Individuals . Only two students had competed in livestock before and we ended the contest with a 5th place for the Senior team and a 10th place for the Greenhand team. Very proud of the students and their Reasons! they did very well and for it being their first time, we can expect great things from this FFA group. We also had the opportunity to take a picture with all the students from Cowley County that were competing!

The JH VB team sweeps Sedan tonight winning the C, B, and A team games. Good job girls!





The Central Football Program is doing a blind bid auction at the last two Jr High home games ( Oct 10/17) and the last varstiy home game (Oct 18). The program is auctioning off 1 helmet shield at each of the Jr High games and 2 at the Varsity game. Minimum/opening bid is $100.00 . Blind bidding will begin at the prior to kick-off and end after the game. You may bid via a google form any time prior to game time until the end of the game each week using the link provided.

Salad Galore by Laken is thriving! Our staff are enjoying the opportunity to order custom made salads from Laken each week to support her business! Students that create their business through Mrs. Allred's Applied Business Class will receive all profits from their business as a scholarship upon graduation. CJSHS is so proud of the hard work these students have put into the class and our ability to provide this real world experience.


Featuring two more Applied Business students today with their start up businesses at CJSHS! Kimberlie is creating and selling candles and Sonja is creating custom crafts!



The JH VB/FB team is back in action tonight at home against Sedan. The VB games start at 4:30 pm and the football game kicks off at 6:30 pm. If you are unable to come to the games, they will be livestreamed on Central Hud TV.

Over the last two days, Central's seniors have participated in the Apply KS event during Kansas Apply Free Days, getting a head start on their college applications.
Kansas Apply Free Days runs from October 7th-9th and is a great opportunity for students to apply for FREE to public universities, community colleges, and technical schools in Kansas!

Sophomore Gracelea Weigle is growing her Chex Mix business for the Applied Business Development course at CJSHS by adding puppy chow this week! She sold out right away yesterday but is making more today!



Junior Jace Pippitt is building his carpentry business with these beautiful hanging squirrel feeders! Jace will be donating several feeders to the Lord's Acre Auction at the Burden Methodist Church on October 19th.
