It's that time ! The Annual CJSHS Food Drive to benefit Joseph's Storehouse kicks off on Monday and will run from Oct. 17th - 27th. Students in grades 7-12 will work to block teacher's doors to earn a work free day in class on Halloween! There has been some strategy discussed for how to get this done, but student will probably need to enlist family help to get to the grocery story. Students may donate actual items (listed below) or cash towards the purchase of items. 22 items in 2022 will be required to block the door! Let's get this done, Raiders!

Mrs. Atkins - Baking…brownies, cake, cookies, etc.
Mr. Braun - Paper…kleenex, TP, paper towels.

Mr. Lampert - Box/Bag foods (that don’t fit another category).
Mr. Whitehill - Pasta.
Mrs. Parsons - Soap…shampoo, bar soap, dish soap.
Mrs. Burdette - Jelly.
Mrs. Martin - Evaporated Milk.
Mrs Liebau - Misc.
Mr. Jones - Pudding/Jello.
Mrs. Allred - Soup.
Mr. Groene - Canned Vegetables.
The HS Cheerleaders cannot wait to see all of the Little Raiders at the Cheer Clinic today!! Please have your little at the high school at 4:30 p.m., the performance will be at halftime of the football game!!
Provided shirts will be pink for the Pink Out game! (Please have your child wear black pants/shorts and tennis shoes.)

The JH VB/FB team played their last home games tonight. The volleyball team went 2-0 beating Caldwell and South Haven. The football team lost a high scoring game against South Sumner 62-28.
It was a great day for the Central cross country team. The HS boys team is the SCBL Champions with 4 Central runners medaling in the top 10. There were 12 runners that medaled In the top 10 in all the JH and HS races today. Great job cross country!
The Junior High Cheerleaders planned a great pep assembly today to celebrate our fall JH 6th-8th grade athletes. Well done!!

Congratulations to Piper Stevens and her family for being the recipient of our Raider apparel give away at Central Jr/Sr High School. To be entered into the drawing, families were asked to respond to the virtual parent teacher conference data email sent at the end of September.
The Culinary Essentials and Baking/Pastry classes took a trip to Pawhuska, OK to visit the Pioneer Woman Mercantile. They experienced great things - a tour of the prep kitchen, visit with 2 renowned chefs, & ate wonderful tasting dishes!

The Central JV football team played at home tonight against Oxford. The boys came away with the 18-6 victory. This was the final game for the JV this season. They finished the year 5-0. Good job boys!
In honor of 4-H week, members of the Burden 4-H Club visited Central Elementary! We learned all about 4-H, projects, meetings, and the Cowley County Fair. Members shared about their current projects and invited everyone to join! Thank you to Burden Club for sharing with our kids!
The Central Football team would like to invite any youth football players to their home game on Friday, October 14. Be there at 6:40 pm in the east endzone to help the Raider football team take the field. Wear your jersey!
Thursday, October 13 is the deadline to sign up for youth basketball. Please drop your forms off at the elementary office or you can go online to register too. If you do register online, please let Missy Atkins know so you can be placed on the Burden team.
Our 4th graders were invited to join in Butler County Ag Day. They enjoyed the experience learning about animals, crops, machinery and more! We love any chance we get to extend our learning experiences beyond the classroom. Thank you to Bluestem Elementary for the invite!
