We had our JH BB & Cheer awards today! We recognized all of our athletes that participated and celebrated our league championship for the boys and girls. We also recognized that it is Back-to-Back League Championships for the boys and girls! Good job Raiders!
Shout out to our CJSHS Student Lighthouse team!! These students are stepping out of their comfort zones to lead assemblies, drive action teams, and establish student led practices throughout the school. Direct quote from today - "I wish I could bottle up your amazing students and take them into our schools, you all are doing amazing things". Our students ROCKED today!! Proud is an understatement. Central Raider students and staff enjoyed welcoming almost 40 leaders from across Kansas into our buildings to share student perspectives on the amazing things happening at USD462 through Leader In Me. Our students spoke with passion and excitement as they shared our leadership, academic, and culture goals along with the role they play in making USD462 a great place to learn and grow.
Today is an exciting day at USD 462. School Leaders from across Kansas and Missouri will be at Central Elementary and Central Jr/Sr High School for a Community Learning Day. Visitors will receive Leader in Me training and tour both schools with Student Lighthouse members to see all the amazing things happening in Raider Nation!
The HS Boys BB team beat Wichita Independent tonight 65-20. The boys now advance to the SubState Semi Final next Monday at Central against Madison at 7:00 pm. Good Job Raiders!
CJSHS students reached their Raiders Rise Leadership Goal through student and staff shout outs and as a reward participated in interest group rotations for a couple hours this afternoon! The students picked some fun options - movies, art, clay, golf, ffa games, dominos, tsuro card game, hair/nails, quiz bowl, advanced bio, food tasting, and wrestling. Keep up the great work Raiders!

Our students just leveled up their Kansas history game with a Gallery Tour featuring artifacts from the Kansas Historical Society’s traveling trunk program! 🎒✨
Students got to touch and explore real artifacts from the Bleeding Kansas era, including:
🎩 John Brown’s legendary hat
🚩 FreeState and ProSlavery flags
👗 A woman’s petticoat from the era
...and so much more!

Good luck to the HS Boys BB team as the boys host Wichita Independent in a Sub State quarterfinal game. The game will tip off at 7:00 pm. Admission will be charged to everyone as this is a KSHSAA post season event. Adults are $8 and student are $6.
