Today was such a wonderful day at CJSHS. We kicked the day off with quarterly late start where students worked in small groups with staff to get caught up on work and study for finals. Then students completed school improvement and community service projects such as decorating the school/preparing food for our school wide family breakfast on Tuesday, painting windows, painting the parking lot, cleaning the senior center and sorting books to donate, raking leaves, making holiday cards for nursing homes, creating school pride media, organizing trophy cases, and more! Next our JH & HS cheerleaders led a pep assembly celebrating our winter athletes. Our juniors and seniors participated in a class competition to break the tie for the class of the month competition. Finally, the students earned an afternoon of fun rotations by filling "Gerald" with SOGs (spheres of growth) to reavh their goal. Rotations included gingerbread houses, pinecone bird feeders, Christmas decor and ornaments, fingernail painting, volleyball, karaoke, alexa song quiz, games such as desk football, holiday trivia, christmas olympics, jeopardy, speed suduko, and more! It was a great day to celebrate the end of the semester before buckling down to focus on finals!
Congratulations to Kaden Miller, Boston Norris, Russ Smith, and Jace Wunderlich for making the All State Football team. Good job in a great football season!

The HS BB team hosted the CVD Spartans tonight. Lily Pankratz and Emma Jackson sang the national anthem beautifully. The girls lost a hard fought game. The JV boys and Varsity boys both got wins! Good job Raiders!

Today Coach Lampert had Tara Sutton come over from the Walnut Valley Barbell Club to give a hands on presentation on how she teaches the clean.
Good luck to the JH BB team as they travel to Cedar Vale today. The games will start at 3:00 pm with C team girls, followed by C boys, B girls, B boys, A girls, and A boys.
The games will be not be livestreamed, but a post will be made after the game on how the kids do!

The HS BB boys lost a nail bitter to Oxford 54-55. The boys finished Border Queen Tournament Runner Ups. Good job boys!
It was another great day of youth basketball. The 3rd/4th grade boys beat Wellington 26-9. The 5th grade girls beat Wellington 32-6. The 3rd/4th grade girls lost a nail bitter to Oxford 6-8. Good job Raiders!
